London Board conference - 8 December 2010
The London Safeguarding Children Board's annual conference will be held at the QEII conference centre on Wednesday 8 December. A full programme and booking details will be available online shortly.
London safeguarding development programme for elected members
The Lead Member Development work is currently being delivered via a group of safeguarding professionals from across London. This includes LSCB Chairs, Assistant Directors for Children's Services and the London Regional Safeguarding Advisers.
Four sessions were held between November 2009 and March 2010 for a total of 26 elected Members (comprising 15 Lead Members for Children’s Services, 4 Council Leaders and 7 Chairs of Scrutiny). The following dates are now being offered for 2010:
- Thursday 9 September 10.00-14.00
- Thursday 16 September 10.00-14.00
- Wednesday 22 September 10.00-14.00
- Wednesday 29 September 10.00-14.00
- Thursday 30 September 10.00-14.00
Lead Members for Children's Services, Leaders and Scrutiny Leads are invited to attend one of these sessions, which will take place at London Councils, 59½ Southwark Street, SE1 0AL and will include lunch and refreshments.

Action learning sets will be implemented in the autumn and an annual policy forum will be convened in February 2011 (dates tbc).
